Project Description

"The Al Jazira Club Arena Stadium, situated in Abu Dhabi, primarily functions as a FIFA football stadium with a seating capacity of 15,000 spectators. However, this versatile arena serves a multitude of purposes, accommodating sports like American Football, Basketball, Boxing, Tennis, as well as hosting exhibitions, additional events, and games as required by the operator. 


To enhance its adaptability, the project incorporates a retractable roof, allowing seamless transition between open and closed configurations, and is equipped with an efficient air-cooling system.


Moreover, the dynamic Master Plan for the entire site enriches the public's sports experience by offering a 2.5-kilometer cycling and running loop. The outdoor amenities feature tennis courts, volleyball courts, basketball courts, an additional football field, and an inviting landscaped area, establishing the entire complex as a premier destination for leisure activities, sports, and recreational pursuits, catering to individuals of all ages and skill levels."

Role and Responsibilities

 

  • Acted as lead architect, shaping the overall design strategy, spatial organization, and identity for a major sports complex competition.
     
  • Defined core design drivers including urban integration, circulation hierarchy, and spectator experience, guiding the multidisciplinary team toward a unified concept vision.
     
  • Led iterative design decision-making, reconciling architectural ambition with operational requirements, technical constraints, and competition objectives.
     
  • Facilitated integration between architecture, landscape, and engineering disciplines to ensure concept viability beyond purely visual design.
     
  • Directed development of presentation material and narrative frameworks to communicate complex design ideas clearly and persuasively.
